Only 50% Of HDD Can Be Used
So I reformatted, using a SP1 disc (Windows Home Edition, SP1).

Question is, it only allows me to use 125 GB or so of the 233 available. What gives?
I went to look at my disc management and this is what it shows:

I'm just taking a few things off there I saved before I do anything.
    Help would be appreciated.

Positive. I can take you a screenshot of it if you want as well.

I heard it had something to do with its size and that it was formatted by SP1.. apparently it doesn't see HDD's bigger than 137 GB's or something.. I'm not exactly sure.

    Nope, haven't tried it.
    I will though, thanks.

Just installed the fix, rebooted, and still says the same amount it being used. I'm going to re-format the drive and let you know how it goes.

I reformatted as well after the fix, and it still says:

    Free space: 127GB
    Used space: 105GB

Ok, this was weird. I went through my disk management screen, as shown by the one above, and did a "quick format".
The drive quickly jumped back up to 233GB as if there were no problems on it before.

I recall installing a used 80 gig one time that showed 40 gigs free while empty till it was formated -- still stumped over that one. -- Savage

I could always see it, I just couldn't always USE it.
Mind you, I did install SP2 and I did do the fix, but I had to format it to use the full capacity.

    Thanks though guys!
