    Good Timing & No Conception
    Hello!

My DH & I are onto our 6th cycle Trying to conceive our first child. We are 29, have been married for 3 years. As far as I know, most females in my family have become pregnant in the first 3 cycles of trying. No known family history of medical problems. I have been off BCP's for 8 months. I have had regular 27-29 day cycles since. I take folic acid, and drink wine occasionally in the first 2 weeks of my cycle. I am of average weight, and I exercise moderately, and have no known health problems.

First & second cycle we 'winged it' , BD'ing every second day from CD 10 - 20. 3rd cycle I started online charting & using OPK's. I tend to ovulate CD 14-15. From the 3rd cycle on, we BD every second day from CD 10, but when OPK is + we BD for 3 days in a row.

According to my 'online chart' we have had excellent 'timing' for cycles 3, 4, and 5. I realize that it can take most women 6-12 months to conceive, however I can't help but feel confused that our timing has been wonderful... and nothing. Are there any changes we can make to increase our chances, considering we usually have good timing?

Any suggestions or advice are appreciated!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. :)

You also have to understand that us women only have an 18-24 hour window when our eggs are viable for conception.

The harder you try, and the more stressed about it you get, actually tends to lessen your chances of conception.

Wow, maybe you should not use so many acronymns so I know what you are talking about!

My advice, after 4 kids, do the deed, do it a lot, and don't worry about getting knocked up. If you don't care, it will happen.

Oh you should have your dudes swimmers counted just in case.

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Just don't stress over it too much. I'm only 24 and my dh is 30. It took us 6 months of trying. Even though your timing is excellent you really only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month. It is very good to know when you ovulate, but being obsessive or too clinical can make it more difficult. Also, not to discourage you in any way, my sil has been trying for seven years to get pregnant with her second child. She has used fertility specialists during this time to no avail. Her sister, on the other hand, just had her 3rd child in 4 years. Regardless of family medical history there could be a problem. I wouldn't be concerned with that until you and dh have be trying to conceive for 12 months. Then you would want to see a specialist. Until then, all you can do is relax and have a great time getting pregnant!

Wow. Sorry about the acronyms... I visit only one discussion forum in regards to trying to conceive, all they use there is acronyms, so I don't know any better. Thanks for your posative advice though... I don't obsess about it. I think about it only once & awhile when I end up at the beginning of a new cycle. I try to chart & use the ovulation predictor kits so I know my body/cycle better. I have seen too many people obsess over it, and it just seems so weird to me. Now I am only worrying about the good timing... After a day or so I'll try to get it out of my head.

    Thanks for your responses!
