Check with manufacturer for correct wiring. If unit is new, there should be paper work with it to tell you size of wire and size of breaker.

There will be no paperwork or instructions with something like this. Especially none that will tell you wire and breaker size. This is figured in the field or on the prints from knowledge of the codes.

PAUL DWYER, please contact a qualified technician or electrician in your area. They will know what to do.

If you have never performed the calculations necessary to properly install a motor and have no knowledge of how to properly bond and grounding then you really need to have a licensed electrician do this work.

Electrical work not done correctly any where can get someone killed. Add to that the effects of the pool and several people can get dead really quickly.

I'm willing to help you, but you have to have knowledge of what you are doing, otherwise it is sheer folly.

I agree with Stan, get a qualified, licensed electrician. First, this is a swimming pool, requires special considerations. Second this is a motor circuit. There are lots of different types of motors, each with its own electrical requirements. Third, in my world a 15 hp pump motor is a big motor. I have a 300 foot deep, 50 gallon per minute well pump, it only has a 5 hp motor.

If you have a pool big enough to require a 15 hp pump motor you can afford an electrician. Do you want to blow that expensive motor?
