    Cough
    I quit smoking on Valentine's day. I now have a cough and coughing up mucus. Is this something to be concerned about?

    Peggy, congratulations on quitting smoking, you are almost home-free.

    The coughing you are experiencing, with mucus, is normal for anyone going of the cigarettes. This is a sign that you lungs are starting to repair. If it concerns you too much, have a check up at your doctor to ease your mind.
