    1991 Civic DX
After following txgreasemonkey FAQ and recommendation, I replaced my wires, plugs, rotor, cap and igniter. Car ran fantastic for a week on Shell 93 and a bottle of Gumout Fuel injector cleaner.

I stopped and put in BP 87 the following week and the car has run terrible, very low rough idle but the car doesn't die at stoplights or anything like before. ECU is now throwing an error 1 (O2 Sensor). Tried another computer and had same problem. Mechanic replaced O2 sensor few months back with a universal. Not sure what's going on, is it possibly just a bad O2 sensor?

I would try disconnecting the oxygen sensor's pigtail connector and cleaning it. Take a small, Swiss file and gently dress the male and female contacts. Take a small flashlight and disconnect the connector from its mount first--then the sensor will easily come apart. Don't use anything else ( e.g. electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner) on the contacts. Afterwards, pull the BACKUP fuse for 10 seconds and reset the ECM. If this doesn't solve the problem, I would replace the sensor with one made by Denso.

OK, just bought a honda civic dx, excellent shape and condition. I've noticed it shifts a little lazy... does that have anything to do with the shift lock release on the shifter? What exactly is the shift lock release?
