Stomach pain followed by white stool in 4 year old.
My son is 4 and has been sick since, well, Sunday February 10th. It started with a low grade fever that was soon accompanied by a cough and runny nose. This lasted until Wednesday, February 13th. Finally fever went away. He was fine on Valentines Day and then Friday the 15th we played outside then went to a family dinner.

When it came time to eat he was complaining that his belly hurt. I thought it was because he didn't want to eat so I had him take maybe five bites then excused him. He went to the couch and watched cartoons. At about 7pm I noticed that he looked a little pale so I took him to the restroom... just in the nick of time too. He vomited from 7pm Friday night until Saturday at about 2pm. I took him to the doctor because he was not peeing and becoming dehydrated because every time he drank anything it came back up minutes later.

His doctor proscribed zofran, an anti nausea med. I gave him the 2 mils as directed and then gave him lots of liquids. He has since been holding everything down. Now my concern is he is saying that his belly still hurts and he had diarrhea and today he has white stool. It isn't hard but not runny either. It seems that every time he eats or drinks it still bothers his belly. Has anyone else every been through anything like this? What should I do? Should I be concerned?

Call the Physician and tell him about the new symptoms.

    Yes, you should be worried.

White dots in stool [ 0 Answers ]

Hi, for the past couple of months I have had white dots in my stools. I don't think I see them every single time, but I usually do. It is itchy down there sometimes and I'll get constipation, and so I self-diagnosed it as pinworms. I talked to my doctor too, and she doesn't think I have pinworms....
