Getting custody of my 2 younger sisters
Around 5 years ago my sisters, recently born brother and myself got adopted by our grandmother and grandfather due to my birth mom having drugs in her system at the birth of my little brother. Well ever since my grandparents (adopted parents) adopted us all they always treated my two younger sisters different. They were hit, neglected and just treated unfair to the rest of us. Mind you they have a son of there own living at there house. My younger sister called the police on my grandmother once before due to my grandparents really beating her up real bad. They gave them family therapy and as soon as that was over it went to the same thing only now treating both of them worse. I left my house at the age of 18 for the same reason, now I am 21 with my fiancé and own son having our own apartment. Lately my two sisters have been planning on running away because of the way they have been treated (bruised up, left scars) I have recent pictures. I told them not to that I was going to get custody of them I don't want them running on the streets. I need help on how I can get this process started. Any advice will help. Thank you!

You have to go through a court and petition them to award you custody... that is going to require a lawyer, some money and patience.

You can also go back to Family Services, report the situation and tell them you are willing to foster your siblings.

Means you have time... they won't age out (become adults) if this ends up taking much time. Meaning it's a waste of time trying to do this if they are 17 years old before you start.

It makes a difference in that their preference is more likely to be listened to. Less likely then if they were a year or two older, but much more likely if they were a year or two (or more) younger.
