I just pierced my own cartilage and its red and swollen and slightly warm
So, I pierced my cartilage last night and I have been twisting it. But my hands were clean. And then I slept on it because it didn't hurt, what so ever. So when I got to school, it kind of got a little swollen and then later in the day it started to get red. I was wondering if that was normal for a new cartilage piercing. Because some of the things I found online about newly pierced cartilage's, they said that it should be a little swollen. So I would appreciate if you could help me out! But other then going to buy things like some doctor anti- blah blah crap. I used hydrogen peroxide to clean it is that bad? So thanks! Hope you can help.

Since you wanted to do it yourself, not go to a professional, and since you don't want to buy any doctor crap, what do you want to do.

It sounds infected, when you show it to your mom, what did she think, does she think it was infected ?

Here's the thing. There's absolutely no way that the needle you used to do this, was sterile, unless you have an autoclave in your home. So, when you pierced your ear, you introduced infection, and that's likely what you have.

The only option is to see your doctor. We can't help you.
