What did your doctor tell you? You did go to one... didn't you? Just in case there was other damage.

My friend Fran broke her upper arm near the shoulder and wore a sling for 8 weeks. Your best bet is to ask your doctor. Call the office. Didn't you receive a paper noting home care on it?

So you are not going to follow the doctor's orders to wear a sling and thereby possibly mess up the movement in your shoulder for the rest of your life?

My friend Fran said she was told it was very important to follow instructions and position her shoulder in certain ways through the day AND to wear a sling.

And I said call the doctor's office and ask. You may stop wearing it too soon and mess up your shoulder.

I don't remember getting a sling when I dislocated my shoulder either. But that was 40 days and 40 nights ago.

And in college having to rely on a buddy to zip your pants up is a humbling experience.

Call your doctor and ask him how long you should wear it. He is the one that would know.

When I suggested that commonsense idea, she said, "no i went to doctor and he said that i dislocated my shoulder and i need to get something to prop up my arm for a while thats all they didnt give me a sling or anything he said it just mildley dislocated not a bad one so my mom told me to keep it on for a week and go from there."
