Multidisciplinary means the classes/courses will be taken from many fields -- from English and History and Languages and Math/Science and maybe Philosophy. One friend worked out her own program and had it approved. Some colleges want you to take certain courses from certain fields. The main idea is to produce a well-rounded graduate of the program.

Only certain colleges and universities offer this, so I'd have to know which one to figure out which fields would be covered. Be careful about online schools that are only scams.

You also should find out if the career you are interested in accepts this degree. For instance, in education, you may not meet minimum criteria for teaching.

It is used more often for someone returning back to University perhaps with random classes or someone who has changed majors several times. They don't have enough classes in one subject for a major in that subject and find this is a faster way to get the degree.
