    Lien home for medical bills
My mother is retired and has to work part time just to make ends meet. She got sick before she started drawing her social security and had to have an emergency surgery, which she did not have insurance coverage. She applied for assistance and they paid the hospital bill for her and she was under the impression that they also paid the doctors bill, but they did not. Now they are trying to sue her. She owns a small house in Oklahoma County. Can they put a lien on her home?

If they get a judgement, they will record it at the recorder's office (where deeds are recorded) and it will place a lien on her property. It is doubtful they can actually foreclose on the property for a judgement/lien of this sort.

A lien can be put on the house but in order for the house to be foreclosed on it would require a lot on the bank/city's part, but if your unsure then contact your government office so it will help put your mind at ease.
