    How to rip a copy of the os from a manufacturer recovery cd?
    Hi ,I lost the recovery disk from my acer PC , a friend offered me his recovery cd from Compaq that has the same windows xp home edition operating system how can I rip off the O.S. and use it on my acer PC and put in my original product key that came with my acer system?

    You can't. Contact Acer for a replacement disk.
