Universal replacement switches should be just fine, you don't need to search for the exact 8794720. Just check the amps pulled by the fan and buy a switch rated for that or higher.

Can't use replacement switch because this switch has only two wires coming out of it but it operates a light and fan separately.

I can't see what you have so you may be right. I just don't see how you can control both a fan and a light with only two wires. There is a third wire somewheres.

I have the same controller. It control fan speed, fan direction, and variable lighting with just two wires. If I wiggle the knobs, it works once in a will, so I know it is in the switch. I don't know how it run on two wires, but it does.

Now where to find a replacement?
