    Not sure if you are wording your question correctly but the short answer is no. If you have a 120 vac outlet you can not plug in or attach any 220 anything let alone a circuit. Are you asking if you can attach a 120 receptacle to an existing 20 circuit?

    No, it cannot.

    You could wire one up like that but it would be kind of insane since anyone could come along and plug their 120V cord cap into it.

    Guess what happens after that?
