Went for surgery got an infection
My 51 year old wife went into a surgical center for an orthopedic surgery procedure and ended up with an oral viral infection. This infection caused blisters, swelling and difficulty swallowing. The intubation tube may have been the issue. It's still up for debate. She became malnourished and severely dehydrated. The antibiotics and viral infection meds are working but her stomach hurts so much from the steroids and antibiotics. She is supplementing with Probiotics and trying to eat. She is getting the "shakes" now. Her blood sugar is fine. She is an aerobics instructor and in great shape otherwise. She lost 14 Lbs. in 7 days from her 116 Lb. frame. What can these shakes be from? She had been diagnosed with cardiac premature ventricular contractions but the cardiologist is not concerned. She has occasional dizzy spells and headaches as well. She has no history of allergies. She had none of these symptoms prior to her surgery.

These could be a side effect of the treatment for the infection or a symptom of the infection. As well the powerful anti-biotic will wreck havoc on your digestive system. Depending on the anti-biotic, most of the bacteria in your gut might have been killed off. A probiotic is usually just one strain of a good bacteria, which doesn't help with the majority of digestion.

The best thing I can say is wait until the antibiotic and anti-viral courses are done and a little after that for the gut to repopulate with good bacteria. Give it time. If it hasn't gotten better than see a doctor again.
