    Balancing trial balances
    HI I am trying to balance my trial balance but I can't do it...

    The t accounts are:
    Sales for the year 497,000
    Purchases made during the year 292,000
    Sales returnes by customers 14,600
    Returns to suppliers 8,900

    Wages 108,000
    Motoring expenses 3800
    Heat and light 4600
    Accountancy 4200
    Insurance 1800
    Telephone and fax costs 3400
    Premises upkeep 5800
    New computer equipment 10100
    Vechicle (company van) 8200
    Suppliers 247400
    Drawings 38000
    Air fares 800

    Cheques received from customers 448000
    Cheques received from sue mason 4500

    I keep getting DR - 762300 and CR 958400 what am I doing wrong?

    You are putting them in the wrong columns... are you sure all of your DR and CR are labeled correctly?!

    I put how they should be re: DR and CR, and totals aren't agreeing too.. but I don't see any debtors or depreciation figures, maybe there is a missing figure... check that you did not leave something out!! :)
