Car accident
I was driving and it was a slippery day, as I was going to stop at a stop sign I slid out a little and a car was coming and slammed on her brakes and slid into a fire hydrate. No police were called. Now she is calling me to pay for damages on her car 4 days later. What should I do?

I would tell her to contact the police. If she really wants it to happen - she will call them. Don't give her any money OR your insurance information!

Report it to your insurance company. Let them handle it.

First remember just because the police was not called, it does not mean it did not happen.
She has the right to sue you if she wants to, she also if you tell her, just talk to your insurance company who can decide if they believe you were at fault or not. ( a lot cheaper than hireing an attorney if she decides to sue you)
If you were at fault and was the cause of this happening, be responsible for your actions and do the right thing.

I think the only thing you can do is reason with her tell her what you told us because I think what your saying is very reasonable on wet days it is hard to stop suddenly..

Why should he deal with her at all? That's what you have insurance for.

Either report it to your insurance company or pay her for her damages. You were the proximate cause of the damages to her car. You don't need the police to tell you this.

This is a question from March 2007 and the OP never re-appeared.
