    Shed with a gambrel roof
I got some shed plans off line the other day , they were for a 8 by 12 shed with a gambrel roof and I don't think they are right , the wall studs are 61 inches I think that is good but the roof truss are off the lower 2 by 4 is 26 1/2 inches with a 73 degree cut on one end and the other end is 47 degree cut , the upper 2 by 4 is 31 inches with a 75 degree cut on each end there is a total of 4 of these that make 1 truss , I did cut all 4 2 by4 like they said and the truss was way off , I would like to go with the gambrel stye roof I just need some help with making the right cuts , thanks

Adding a 3rd story using a gambrel roof [ 2 Answers ]

I'd like to add a 3rd story/gambrel roof to my house. I believe that I could do a semi-cathedral ceiling using plywood gusset plates in place of ceiling joists but can I also push the knee bracing (interior walls) outward to give more room space or do they have to meet at the joint where the upper...

Roll roofing on flat shed roof [ 4 Answers ]

The only option I am finding locally for the roll roofing material has the granules all the way to both edges. I am familiar with the kind that has a 2-inch selvage edge. How does one apply the type where there is no selvage edge? Do I still overlap at the 2-inches from row to row?

How can I convert this shed roof to a gable roof? [ 5 Answers ]

I want to extend this porch out another 8 feet and convert the current shed roof to a gable roof. Is there a framing genius lurking here who can tell me how to make it happen? The conceptual image gives an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish with the porch. See attachments. Michael
