To blanch or not to blanch?
I am making my first homemade chicken pot pie tomorrow, I am using fresh vegetables rather than frozen. Should I blanch them off first before baking in the pot pie?

    YUM!
I'd cook carrots to a slightly firm stage, not cook peas at all... what others are going in the pie?

I actually HATE peas, so I am tossing in carrots, green beans, mushrooms & corn. - I was thinking, maybe sauté the carrots, green beans & mushrooms in some butter first. What do you think?

Yes, I would precook/saute vegetables that could end up crunchy if I don't.

What time do we eat? :)
