    1976 Dodge 2 ton truck
    When operating any lighting circuit (including brake lights) the fuel gauge reading increases. No other instruments are affected. Any clues please.

    Check all ground wires from fuel tank to body as well as from body to frame and engine block.

I have a 1985 dodge truck with a 318. I put a battery, voltage regulator and a altenator on it and it still is not charging the battery. Any suggestions on what to check? Everything electrically functions fine on the truck other than charging the battery.
