Husband is fighting over cats in divorce. What can I do?
My husband and I were together for 6 years and married for a year and a half. We got two cats from a friend of ours and have had them since they were born. We have not fought over anything in the divorce except when I said that I got an attorney. Not even a minute later he says that he wants the cats. I served him the divorce papers because he kept making excuses as to why he couldn't meet me to sign them. The only thing I put in the papers was that I was keeping the cats. He has contested the divorce and I'm pretty sure its over the cats. What can I do to just get him to just sign the papers and leave the cats out of this since they have been with me since the separation a year and a half ago? Is there anything I can do? I don't want to give him the cats since they have been with me for so long. Please help.

You can pay your lawyer more money for time to fight over it.
You and your husband can go to mediation.
You can pay for the cats, or trade them for something of monetary value (I would hazard a guess that that is what he wants, not the cats).
That's the way divorce IS - often petty, contentious and costly.

Right, and you can't make anybody do anything.

There's no other property owned by either party that's in contention?
