I have a GE refrigerator , Model number PS 123NCRD WV, Series GL 434896,
I have a GE refrigerator , Model number PS 123NCRD WV Series GL 434896. I attempt to set the freezer at zero which is recommended but the reading was showing 8 and now it is at 15. Items in the freezer are getting softer and not staying as frozen
I have removed the refrigerator from the cabinet and vacuumed up any dust, which wasn't much.
Does it need a charge of refrigerant?
    Is the compressor going bad?
Or is the control board bad?

Your coils are dirty. Remove rear cover after unplugging and spray down with good cleaner. Then wash out with sprayer on water hose. This is the only cure. Clean it well or you will burn up the compressor and clean the fan blades well. Replace cover before starting back up.
