Stopping hair color - letting grey grow in
    Hello!
I am a very dark brown haired female (almost black) with long hair and I would like to stop dying my hair. What are some ideas of the best (most efficient and least painful aesthetically) way to go about this without cutting my hair? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking the time.

If it natural dark and you've been going light that's simple dye the light hair black to avoid the ugly roots and go from there but if it's the other way dye as light as you can and leave it alone

More magazine did a great story on this subject within the last year or so. See if you can get hold of the article, it was excellent.

The best you can do is let your hair grow out naturally. Once your hair grows out, you should consider getting the colored part cut off because it might look unpleasant having two-tones in your hair. Another option is to bleach your hair to the palest blonde, then apply a white and blue toner to achieve a gray look. However, this process can damage your hair if it's not done correctly. You should go to the salon for consultation and have them fix it for you.
