So... You are an HVAC tech with all the equipment and License needed to do this job? Because Harry Homeowner isn't equipped to do it.

It seems that the model # you listed is for the fan motor. An ARMSTRONG fan right? I agree with smoothy partly. "harry homeowner" can be able to do a job like this but you're going to NEED a thorough understanding of HVAC. Plus the skills to solder pipe and hook up electrical. Skills which take practice and time. About the only thing an average homeowner definitely, 100% CAN'T do without a license is get the freon you'll need after and IF, you can get it installed.
Learning is about making mistakes so if you can't afford the mistakes (or afford the patience) then you should probably call someone. Best of luck to you!

Also need the right manifold guages... need a vacuum pump... understanding of refirgeration principles to know how to interpret the gauge reading at the specific conditions present at the moment you are doing the work... and an expensive recovery machine to not run affoul of EPA laws if it doesn't work.

    Wow, judgies.

I'm looking for the same, or similar thing. I've got a compressor unit with the same model number, and AprilMcAbee, mine is a Concord. (Associated with Lennox, Armstrong and Allied).
Need the part # for the run capacitor (what I think is the run, as when I took the Service Panel off, the HERM and common poles were the only ones connected) it's the larger round capacitor. The parts and most of the voltage info are rusted off. I know it's 370 volts and ?/5 MDF, although since the fan wasn't connected, I'm missing the number I really need.

Any HVAC parts store can find a replacement. They can tell from the shape too. I pay about $6 for the ones I use.

Try and buy freon to charge the system without a license. And know how to tell when you have exactly the right amount, not too much and not too little.

No judgements being passed here... just stating cold hard facts. Ones most people don't realise, thinking they can do it themselves to save paying someone. Nowhere did you state you are an HVAC tech with the knowledge, liscense and equipment.
