    Depo provera shots
    I just started on the birth control shots and I be drinking and smoking and I would just like to know if this will interfere with the birth control?

    It won't lessen it's effects. But smoking and drinking does add a risk of stroke, heart attack, and/or blood clots.

    I've been on the shot twice now and drank and smoked each time. There is a high chance for weight gain though... for instance I was recently on it for the last year and have gained 25 lbs. so be careful with your calorie intake... keep in mind alcohol has lots of calories!
