Only work on an A/C system, if you have a manifold gauge set, know what the high and low pressures should be for your vehicle, and know how to properly use these tools. Otherwise, you could easily damage the system.

The following pressure specifications are for a 1995 Ford Explorer A/C system in good operating condition, at sea level, and at an ambient air temperature of 80 degrees F:

Low side gauge (evaporator suction): 22 to 50 psig
High side gauge (discharge): 160 to 250 psig
