    How long would it take for me to run 3.1 miles if I run the amount below?
    I can run 1.8 miles in 12 minutes and 10 seconds. How long would it take for me to run 3.1 miles, and can you explain how you got to the answer?

    20.95 minutes

    basic algebra:

    12.166 minutes ÷ 1.8 miles = x minutes ÷ 3.1 miles

    x = 12.166 ÷ 1.8 X 3.1
    x = 20.95 minutes
