Where are you going to do this pet sitting? Your house? Somewhere else? Do you have any experience pet sitting? It's a lot like babysitting - you have to know what you are doing.
What kind of pet do you want to buy?
It's very, very difficult to find "work" when you are 11.

I don't blame your dad for being concerned about you when, at 11, you identify yourself as a "Hot Chick". I know this is what you asked. But that would worry me as a dad. It indicates you are trying to grow up too fast and want to emulate adult behaviors dangerous for an 11 yr old.
See if you can arrange to sit in your home, rather than the pet's home.

Does your house have air conditioning, a back yard with a fence and any trees for shade?
You could put signs up around the neighborhood (letting parents take the calls though) for all day dog care, one dog per day only. And it won't be much money, maybe $15 for 9 hours while someone is at work. But you can read and do other things too.
As for buying a pet? My last 3 pets, 2 dogs and a kitten, were totally free. I answered ads from people giving them away. Two ads were in stores and 1 was in the paper.
The expenses of a pet don't stop the first day. Food, vet, license add up.

Sure, Sharlee - this is an international site so help me find a job where I live.
What is your experience, what are your connections?
