By preserving a culture, one keeps the traditions, family values, sociological standards and mores, and language. One keeps their personal identity intact.

By not preserving a culture, it all goes away and people cease to have their family background intact. No one knows what the family meant, what the traditions are and where the family came from. Nor could they appreciate the family history and struggles made. That is usually seen in about the fourth generation of american born citizens.

So why is it not important to preserve a culture? I cannot answer you logically, because that question defies logic to me.
