    Is it normal for a sump pump to run for up to 30 min on a day its not raining?

    It might be, in that area, if the ground is saturated or the area has a high water table.

    Joy nailed it! If the pit's collecting water then the pump will be running. Yours isn't running dry is it? Let me know, Tom,
