    Hello:

    Is it true, that if a man lives long enough, he WILL get prostate cancer?

    Maybe not all, but many will--but they will die of something else.

    PSA exams are usually unnecessary.

    According to my wife, who is a nurse, the answer is yes. At least this is something she had been told when she went through nursing school. Though she also adds that they told her that in many cases, prostate cancer develops and grows so slowly, most men will die from old age before it is ever actually detected.

    That is not a true statement. About 1 in 6 men born today will get prostate cancer. If you were to live beyond the average age that was accepted as the normal when calculating the 1 in 6 the your chances would go up but never reach 100%. Eventually, so organ will fail and you will die.
