No one can predict except in very broad time spans if any given individual will pass or fail an EtG test.

A "bottle of wine" (approx 5 standard drinks) would usually bring your BAC to about .08 requiring about 5 hours to BAC=0, leaving 33 hours for EtG elimination.

Using those figures there is a study that closely corresponds (9 people dosed to .08) and the average clearance time for EtG was 32 hours. (Moore, 2010, O-2).

It is my opinion that you would still be positive but it could depend on the cutoff of the test, 100 v 500 ng. Either way you are on the cusp.

I have no confidence in the validity of EtG testing but the results continue to surprise me by the false negatives returned after even significant drinking episodes.

Please advise when you get the results.

Thanks. I'm pretty nervous about it. I drank a lot of water yesterday. Will amount of urine have anything to do with results? I could only pee a little

    You should be nervous.

They don't need much urine and would have required you to remain until the sample provided was sufficient.

Please let us know the results. This intrigues me.

You don't happen to know the cutoff of the test, do you? Also, if you don't mind would like to know your gender, age, and weight.

Would you like to do a little further calculating? If so tell me how long it took to drink the bottle of wine. That is when you started drinking and when you ended.

What were you told about this test? Usually, clients are advised that even small amounts of alcohol can be detected for up to 5 days.

That would be great. We got the wine around 11am. Two of us drank it. And I had 3 other glasses. So half a bottle or less and the 3 glasses till about 8pm. Nothing after that. Not I wasn't told about the test.any hope?

Here's the problem. A bottle of wine contains a specific amount of alcohol that can be reduced to standard drinks. A glass of wine is subjective. 5 oz of wine (10% abv) is one standard drink. One standard drink contains 13.7 grams of pure alcohol. A bottle contains 25 fl. oz..

Now, basically you consumed the wine across a 7 hour period? That is of some importance because EtG is created as alcohol is metabolized and begins eliminating about 4-5 hours after the first drink. You metabolize alcohol at a fixed-rate limited amount. Those calculations are important to making an estimate... guess is more accurate.

First, I need to calculate your BAC just so I have a start point.

This is particularly interesting because of the similarity to several recent individuals that reported back their results.

Recalculating your BAC with gender and weight included provides a little lower BAC .067. But factoring in age returns it to about where we began. Around .08.

The time from first drink to last is in your favor. During that period you are eliminating both alcohol and EtG. But you are still in a danger zone.

One of the reasons your case intrigues me is a lady in your age range and size drank 3 bottles of wine and passed at 55 hours (last drink) See: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/addict...-619164-2.html

The erratic nature of EtG testing allows for almost any result. I provide guidance based on peer reviewed studies only. Over the years these studies (on EtG) have failed to provide reliable, real-world predictability except in a very broad range.

At any rate, no pronouncement, but anytime you are running this close to the edge you have to be prepared for the worst.

Do you face any severe consequences if positive?

I'm also a bit surprised that you weren't better informed by the administering agency about the test.

NOTICE: Any person or entity that is subjected to or relies on EtG testing should read this Advisory issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services, September 2006 and remains in effect as of date of this posting. Copy available here > US DHHS Advisory

Either she did not and went to jail or did not get back on here to provide the outcome.
