    Father won't see children
My son-in-law won't see his children. He and my daughter have been divorced three years and last June, he stopped seeing his children. His daughter was very close to him and is having a bad time with this. She is almost nine years old. She blames herself because the last time he wanted her to spend the night with her, she chose to stay at home with her grandparents who were visiting. What can we do to help her with this abandonment. Her daddy has since moved out of state and can't be found. Thanks

First everyone must understand in today's society dead beat dads is a far to common situation, and it shows a lack of love and an attempt to escape the reminder of a failed relationship.

There is little you can do except explain this to the child that her father is not living up to his obligations and it has nothing to do with her. That fathers are suppose to love their children regardless of anything and that his running away is not her fault,

If possible even counseling could be of a big help.

I would be sure that all attempts by child support enforcement is done to make him pay all of his child support.

I have four boys and their father has nothing to do with them! My oldest son is taking it hard because their father has not been in their lives in 9 years. He was very young, but very close to his dad. The sad thing with my story is that their father lives 5 minutes away. Just reassure her that it not her fault and don't feel bad to get her help, school conselor or even a shink! If the father's family is still in the picture that may sooth the kids that at least his family wants to be part a part of their lives. I hope it help and I feel your pain!
