    My husband is working in SC for a year
    My husband moved from Ks to SC to work as a contact programer... can he take his moving expenses going out and also when he moves back off his taxes... we still have and maintain our home in ks. And how do we show his per diem when its not on his w2

    Yes on the moving expenses if he stays in place for at least 39 weeks. Further, if he works for LESS than a year, he can claim daily living expenses because the job is considered to be temporary in nature.

    He will file Form 2106 and claim the exepneses as an itemized deduction if he is working under Form W-2.

    If he is working under Form 1099-MISC, then he claims the daily living costs on Schedule C.
