I'm guessing that will be the policy number they have for you, where did you get the number from?

The letter that I received with this policy number said they owed me money from a retirement policy I set up years ago. The name of the insurance company on the letter was First Liberty Insurance Company out of Springfield, Illinois but when I did some research on the internet looking for a way to contact them about the policy there was no results for this insurance compnay.

Your best bet is to give them a call, if it's a load of crap then hang up, if not you're quids in (I'm English so pardon our little quips). If you have retired then it's quite possible, if you haven't but you had a policy then again very possible, best way to find out is to contact them, I'd try to withhold my number though if I was you or you might end up getting lots of weird calls.
