    Application for german passport?
    My father was a German Citizen when I was born, but has since taken up South African citizenship. Do I qualify for a German passport and do I first need to become a German citizen.

    You'll need to be a German citizen to obtain a German passport. You should have an ancestral claim to Gernam citizenship through your father. The German consulate will be able to help you with additional information.
