A couple of my friends were extremely drunk in public and the cops came and arrested them. After they areested them they asked to search my purse. They found a marajuana pipe, less than a gram of pot, a pill bottle of powder that did not test possitive for any illegal drug, and a meth pipe. I admitted the pot and pot pipe was mine and explained to them how I found the pill bottle and other pipe in my then boyfriends drawer and took them to throw in his face next time I saw him. They took me to jail to test the contents of the pill bottle. Like I said it tested negative for all illegal drugs. Who knows what it was. They wrote me a ticket for possession of paraphenelia and possession of less than an ounce of marajuana. My question is, what is the sentence for these charges usually? It's my first offense.

Hello 420:

Why did you let them search your purse? Don't lay down. Get a lawyer. A conviction will hurt you. If you can avoid it, I CERTAINLY WOULD.

I let them search ny purse because ,in my experience, if you say no they always say they think your under the influence and they take you to jail. Same thing with searching my car. I've said no and they say I'm acting like I'm high and they impound the car. I've alsostraight out said no you can not search my purse and was told, we are going to search your purse. I figured if they found the paraphenelia it would be better than an under the influence. Right? So do you know what they usually give you for poss. Of paraphenelia?

Never, never, never let them search you. If you go by your experience instead of my advice, you'll do a lot more time than you have to. Don't lay down. You can beat this charge.

But, I've already said this, and all you want to know is how much time you're going to have to do... My answer is this. When you put your future in a prosecutors hands, he's not going to treat you as well as you would. Whatever happens to you, it's going to be bad. And, since you don't care, I don't either. I'm interested in helping people who are interested in helping themselves.
