    Retrieving My Files
    Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me? Recently my computer crashed and I was unable to re-boot without my disk. I have re-booted my system but my computer has completely reset itself and I no longer have any of my files -music, pics, video's etc - which I really need back - please can someone tell me if there is anyway of retrieving these now.

    Cheers

Please clarify your meaning of "completely reset itself". Does the computer not turn on ?

If the computer is "dead", hopefully the hard drive is not damaged. If so, you can remove the hard drive and install it as a 2nd drive in another working computer (or a new one, if the old one is completely trashed).

This will give you access to the old drive and retrieve all your files.

I agree, we need more info about what reset itself means. But it sounds like you might have done a system recovery. If that's the case, its likely everything is lost. That's why its recommended that you always have backups.
