Inspiron 9100 blank screen

Have Dell Inspiron 9100 that screen goes blank (black). I purchased a complete screen assembly on Ebay (cover,hinges,etc). Installed assembly and when I start laptop, all I get is a bright white screen. Original screen was a WSXGA and the replacement is a WXGA. Is there a compatibility issue here?...

I have 5 different computers in my house with built in wireless cards. My toshiba Tecra 9100 can't find an available network. I don't know why.
