Help me to be free of this problem!
    Hello,
I have a problem that I've only had since giving birth to my daughter. It is rather embarrassing for me to say but I'm having the confidence tonight to step up and ask a question that very much needs an answer... So here I go... Since giving birth for the first time I had experienced after all the bleeding had finished, some mucous, it is yellowish/white and gooey... I know very YUK! But that's not all... I have been experiencing this for ages... My daughter is nearly two.. I have had tests and swabs taken from my vagina and the results have come back as "no infection" and "no sexually transmitted diseases"... So what is this? I have tried naturopathy remedies that were supposed to help with this problem I've been having for some time, but have proved to be useless.. And I've also added nutritional supplements and changed some of the foods in my diet and reduced the intake of others... Nothing and none of the supplements and nutritional support has stopped this little unknown condition yet... Can someone please PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I just want to be normal again and... I would really love to not have to use liners everyday to keep my underwear fresh...
Help would be much appreciated :)
    Thanks, Kat

Everyone has mucus, and the reason panty liners are so popular is that most women have quite a lot of mucus. I suspect you do have mucus, and probably copious amounts, but not an abnormal amount, or the medical people who saw you would be more concerned.

How often do you need to change your panty liners? Do you have days when you don't need to wear them?

I didn't have the problem I have today before I had my baby I only used to get a little bit two days before my period and then nothing the rest of the time... I have to change my liner between 1 and 4 times a day now... I think it has something to do with birth... when I got the tests from the doctor I got told that my cervix was torn a bit so I thought for a while that it was just my cervix trying to heal but it's been going on for ages now so I think I'll have to attend some ghynaecologist appointments to get some helpful information that might help me to understand this better and if I can get back to how my body was functioning in regards to mucous before I had bub. The way it is I don't feel it's normal.. we all know our bodies and I think that this is a bit strange for my body to be doing this so much. I feel uncomfortable and it's making life a bit awkward for me. Yes women may get mucous but I don't think that they should have to live with it being something that makes day-to-day life uncomfortable... there's a line between natural and unnatural.. I think the amount of mucous coming from me is a bit unnatural and can be managed provided that I get the right professional help. Thank you :)

I'm pretty sure I live on a different continent than you, so I can't supply anyone helpful. By all means get your cervic checked out, but be aware that your body does change after a baby and sometimes it does not change back. I would normally expect to change a liner about twice a day, more often on my fertile days, and I feel that's even on the low side of normal.

As long as there is no infection, that's the big thing.
