    Failure to yield ticket
This past week our son was traveling in the left lane of traffic and going the speed limit when a sports car in front of him decided to slam on the brakes. Our son hit his brakes to avoid hitting the car. As he did, his car suddenly pulled hard to the left causing him to go into oncoming traffic causing a head on collision with an opposing car. As we looked over our son's car, we noticed a screw in the driver side rear tire. It is believed that a hitting the brakes caused a blowout which caused his car to pull hard into the oncoming traffic. Should we fight this ticket? And by the way, the sports car kept on going.

I'm surprised he got a failure to yield instead of failure to control.

But you really have little grounds to fight the ticket on. Unless you have witnesses that the other car caused it by braking unnecessarily, the fact is his car caused the collision. Even if it was due to a blowout.

He should, however, go to court. Most places will plea bargain tickets down to reduce points and fine.
