Need help with range extender finding gateway... maybe. :D
Hi to all that can assist,

I have a laptop set up at my dorm room at the University of Tennessee. We get horrible internet in our room (2/5 bars usually.. but it seems like .1/5). I bought a range extender (WN2000RPT) (repeater) and followed everything in the instruction manual. I've even tried to factory reset it, start over, and try everything again (choosing a different channel of the same internet name).

The wireless router that emits the signal is down the hallway from me.

It sees the internet signal I want to extend three times, on channels 1, 11, and 8. I've tried picking the one that has the strongest signal, and the other two after factory resetting the extender when it doesn't work afterwards.

When I get the router set up, everything seems to go perfect--I connect to the new internet (well the same internet signal-but extended as it abbreviates as EXT). It seems to be at 5/5 bars and signal strength is excellent. No page will load, and after a few minutes it gives me the yellow sign over the internet and says there is a problem.

My ipconfig/all on the normal is as follows:

Any help is appreciated. My only thought is that the university secures the internet--making it unable to be extended somehow.

P.S. The short version of the ipconfig shows it as not having a Default Gateway at the very bottom when on the extended internet, but it does on the normal internet
