    I feel like something haunts me?
    Hello! My question is someone haunting me or am I crazy? It started when I was about 12years I am 41 now . I have like nightmares but I know I'm not fully asleep and I can feel this heavy person on top of me and sometimes feel him touching me and sometimes like the blacket is covering me and I can't breath but I cant's remove it because something is holding me. I feel very afraid that when I finally wake up I'm so afraid I'm crying I told a nun one time when I was younger because I would here someone call my name and she told me that when it happen to start praying so every time it happens I start praying and that is the only way it stops. And I don't know why but I feel like is a heavy man, this is very scary and I have been going on with this for so many years can someone help me please.

    While I do appreciate the perspective of sleep paralysis... I do disagree with it in cases like these. Just because science can measure something does not mean they understand the force behind it. I do very much believe these instances to be demonic in nature. Just as the presence of this thing is uncomfortable for you, I'm sure your prayers are uncomfortable for it and that is why it probably does not stick around. However, there are certain ways to pray for certain situations and when it comes to spirits, "praying" doesn't usually cut it. In this subject Jesus needs to be our great example and not once did he pray a spirit away. He cast them out. Some spirits can be stronger and more wicked than others... that is why it is important for you to find someone that not only understands this but had experience in it. This is a long time for you to have been dealing with this and I believe with my whole heart than it can stop. You need to contact a church that is experienced in this.

    I will not count any possibility out but they all should be looked at without a preformed conclusion that can contaminate the entire matter.

    The sleep paralysis information seems to be a good way to start because it points out that there are other possibilities which can also be of some relief in cases where the person is experiencing enough fear to cause problems in functioning in daily life.

    To remain open and as objective as possible is important in my opinion.

    This condition can also arise in a case like this to be caused by sleep apnia. After being deprived of oxygen the brain can do funny things. In a 12 y/o the mind only sees so far and then when it keeps happening (routine pattern) then it is thought to be paranormal. The condition is also called the "old hag syndrom". Having it for a long term and being associated with fear of paranormal experience can alone keep you in the dark.

    Get checked out and maybe even a sleep study done if possible. In the long run information is power.

    However I do still agree with you two... it cannot hurt to go to a sleep specialist and get checked out.
