    FICA Tax must paid by employer or Employee? Is there any excemption in it?
    Hi Experts,

    I am on H1B visa , working in GA.

    1. does the FICA tax needs to be paid by the employer or by employee?
    2. is there any exemption based on annual income? If yes what should be the yearly income to get rid of FICA tax?

    I am curious to know the answer for these Payroll questions.. your help will be greatly appreciated.

    If you'll "google" FICA you can find a lot of information. The company matches the Social Security and Medicare that is taken from your paycheck, but not the federal tax. Good luck.

    FICA has to be paid by employee and Employer both,
    Rate for employee is 0.06%
    Its same for employer but not sure about it as its paid at a definite period.
