    My 10 month old maltipoo refuses to eat his dog food.
    My 10 month old maltipoo refuses to eat his dog food. A few weeks ago we left him with a relative for a week and he wouldn't eat for her. She gave him some of our food and now he refuses to eat his dry and canned food. Any suggestions?

    How long has it been? A healthy dog will not starve themselves for long. If you are concerned, you should take him to the vet.

    It could be stress from being left with family members, remember dogs don't know why you are leaving them and that you will return. Any disruption in a dogs routine can have many negative reactions. Not eating is a very common one. A healthy dog will not starve themselves. Rule anything medical out first and then chose a high quality puppy chow and put it down and walk away. If he doesn't eat the food, pick up the dish and wait an hour or so, put the dish down and repeat if necessary. Is your dog drinking water? Is she up to date with vaccines and worm treatments?
