Lived and Worked in two States
    Hello,

I lived in Idaho from Jan. 06 through August 06. And in August moved to Utah, where I currently live. How do I file both my State and Federal Taxes?

I understand that I will need to file in both States for state taxes... which form do I use... and are they pretty self explanatory. My taxes are super easy, so I don't think I need an tax preparer yet. Just a little advice!

    Thanks

    Lauren:

I am truly sorry, but I do not have the time to walk you through the process.

It IS tax season, after all.

You would file as a part-year resident for each state.

Other than that, I really cannot help you unless you pay me for my time and expertise.

    Sorry!

    Hello,

I lived in Nevada from Jan. 06 through August 06. And in August moved to North Carolina, where I currently live. How do I file both my State and Federal Taxes?

I understand that I will need to file in North Carolina for state tax and Nevada doesn't have state tax... which form do I use... and are they pretty self explanatory. My taxes are super easy, so I don't think I need an tax preparer yet. Just a little advice!

    Thanks Christien

You pay federal taxes on ALL of your income. You just combine the amounts on the separate W-2s.

You file a North Carolina return as a part-year resident, paying taxes only on the income earned while in North Carolina.

Follow the instructions provided with the tax forms. You can download the forms from the North Carolina state government website, or go to the local library for the forms.
