Can I be fired from staples for not signing up enough rewards members?
It is a staples directive to sign up 15 people per week for the rewards program. If you do not you get note to files and then write ups. Three write ups your gone. Sometimes its not possible to sign up that many people. Just seems like it is not fair.

Do you have to sign any paperwork promising to abide by this directive?

    Hello F:

I agree... Why don't you see if they'll let you keep your job for no pay. Then you won't have to sign up anybody... Would that be fair?

It's employment at will. Do what your employer requires of you (fair or not) or you're gone. You can be terminated because Staples doesn't like the color of your socks.

If you can't meet quota, find another job. This is not an unusual requirement.

Yes, you work for Met Life insurance and don't sell enough policies, you don't keep your job.

If you work for State Farm in the office and don't arrange enough appointments for the agent, you are gone.

The Rewards program is very important to them for the marketing info it gains and tracks for people who use them.
And they have made it clear you are to sign up people, so you have to be much more aggressive and outgoing to get them to sign up. Do you ask everyone, and I mean every person you see if they are signed up
