    Alternative saniflo venting
HI; I have a saniplus-snaiflo toilet. I cannot get to the main vent or any other vent. Can I run out the celler wall and under the deck ; only about 1 foot and then cap it with screen; will it work properly. Stuck.

    Thank you jerry

You are aware the sewer gas is going to render that deck unusable if you do that due to foul odor alone. And its likely to make its way back inside the home as well because no building is airtight.

Codes vary... what country are you located... and what state. City as well might help.

    Hi all...

Smoothy, in another thread Jerry said his county has no plumbing code (hard to believe but got to go with what they tello us)...

Jerry, as Smoothy said, there will be sewer gasses/odors associated with the vent so, at a minimum, drill through the deck and run the vent up the side of the building to above the roof, if possible.

If you can't go above the roof, but can get the vent above the windows and at least 10 feet from any opening in the building (windows, doors, sklights, etc.) then run it to that point.

I would not recommend just installing vent under the deck... odor and health issues here, for sure!

Hi all, planning to put a saniflo in the basement to handle toilet/sink. The main line is approx 3ft above ground. In MA we need to have a licensed plumber do the install, which is fine. So I found this pipe in the basement, it's labeled FV (future vent I assume). Is this where the vent will...
