Is my friend in the witness protection program?
My best friend and former boyfriend changed his last name to a common one and won't tell me why. Apparently he did this a long time ago and got very angry when I asked.
He also keeps a gun by his bed and locks his bedroom and bathroom doors.
He did receive a card from his family with his fake last name in quotes and the real last name on it.
This guy wouldn't tell me anything. Are these signs of being in the witness protection program?

IF he is why would you want to push him for an answer.
Also , if his parents and family know where he is he is not in the program. Those are the first people who are contact when the "bad guys" are lookng for someone. Probably more of a falling out with the family that your friend does not want to dig up. Could be business, or abuse, who knows. Best to stay out of it and just be there for your friend.

Being a former WPP witness (Australia),I would have to say I would not be surprised if this was the case with your friend.
OR,he has a history he is paranoid of catching up with him!!
Cheers FnOzi.

I would say No he is not, if he was, you would never be allowed to know he had another name before, and any letters coming to him would never have his real name on it. Even from family, since any letters to him have to go though the Feds, his family would not know his new name or his new location.
As for as locking your doors and keeping a gun, doesn''t everyone just do that, they do around here. Guns in the back window of your truck, gun on your belt or on your leg, and 30 to 40 guns in the closet of your home.

Anything is not possible. He could have changed his name for religious purposes and his family don't accept it. Follow your first mind and stay prayerful

This is kind of a silly question, but I was just thinking... if you needed to go into witness protection, but you were in debt and had creditors after you, would the government pay the debt and/or forgive the debt? Auto accident with no witness or police report

I was parking my car at a busy gas station and hit a curb. The guy behind me said that I hit his car, but I said I didn't. None of the other customers witnessed anything, (it was full that day) and the police were not called. Am I liable for his "damages"?
