    Payroll Taxes
    New to working in NJ and am unfamiliar with their tax lingo. What is FICASS, FICAMI, NJ W/T and NJ SUI taxes?

    FICASS is Social Security.

    FICAMI is Medicare.

    NJ SUI is State Unemployment Insurance.

    My GUESS is that NJ W/T is New Jersey Withheld Tax.

What is the rule of thumb for determining the amount of income a company should pay out as "payroll." (for paying the correct amounts of Medicare, Social Security, etc. etc.). Looking for the generally accepted rule-of-thumb.. I can't remember it.
